Rodney > Monet's Pond, Giverney, France.  Monet's claim to fame as a painter was due to his role as a founder of Impressionism, and during the late 1870's his pictures were in the forefront of avant-garde art.  Monet has an extensive flower garden in the back of his house wrapped around the pond above.  He developed this pond by diverting a channel of water from a nearby river to run into the pond.  Monet did many paintings around this pond and also from a row boat he had.  More pictures of  Monet's garden and house start on page 5.
